Part of Inclusion by Team Teach
(6-hour, face-to-face course)
Inclusive Practice: ADHD is a practical, face-to-face, CPD-accredited course from Inclusion by Team Teach. It helps schools build consistent, evidence-informed practice that educators can apply immediately.
Overview
This CPD-certified course has been created to provide practical support to anyone working with children or young people with ADHD in schools and education settings.
Many of us are aware of ADHD and the impact it can have on learning and behaviour, but it can be difficult to know how we should adapt everyday practice to support our students more inclusively, and how we can respond more confidently and consistently to meet their individual needs.
Inclusive Practice: ADHD will help staff understand how ADHD may affect a child or young person’s attention, executive functioning, memory, organisation, emotional regulation and classroom participation.
Course attendees will learn practical inclusive strategies for real situations to enable students with ADHD to participate in learning most effectively, build self-esteem and independence, engage with staff, peers and their environment successfully and develop a strong sense of belonging.
The 6-hour course covers:
- ADHD in an education setting, including common myths, different presentations and a strengths-based view.
- How ADHD may affect attention, memory, emotional regulation and executive functioning.
- How signs may present in the classroom, including differences in how ADHD can present in girls and boys.
- Instructional adaptations, task breakdown, visual cues, active engagement and assessment adjustments.
- Structure, routines, movement, seating, sensory considerations and reducing distraction.
- Positive behaviour support, self-esteem, social-emotional learning and independence.
- Parent-school communication, SEND responsibilities and transitions.
Who is this course for?
Anyone working with children or young people who would like to learn more about ADHD, how it can be a barrier to learning and participation in school life, how unmet needs can shape behaviour, and the practical strategies that will enable them to support students for more inclusive and effective learning environments.
Headteachers, senior leaders, SENDCOs, inclusion leads, MAT leaders, teachers, teaching assistants, learning support staff, behaviour leads and pastoral teams.

The Team Teach Experience
Team Teach is an accredited, award-winning provider of training in behavioural support strategies. The Team Teach approach and philosophy have been developed by practitioners with over 25 years’ experience in delivering respectful, accessible and practical behaviour, inclusion and SEND support solutions.
Team Teach has supported more than 13,000 settings globally to develop effective approaches to behaviour support and reduce the need for restrictive physical intervention when responding to behaviours of concern.
Our work has consistently shown that behaviour cannot be considered in isolation. Understanding the individual needs, communication, environment and circumstances that influence behaviour is central to creating safe, supportive and inclusive environments.
This understanding provides a natural foundation for our work in inclusion and SEND. Drawing on our experience of working with educators and support staff across a wide range of settings, our inclusion training focuses on helping staff better understand the needs of children and young people, recognise barriers to participation and learning, and put practical strategies in place to support inclusion.
By connecting inclusive practice with behaviour support, we help settings take a more proactive approach: understanding needs earlier, adapting practice where appropriate and creating environments in which children and young people are better able to engage, learn and thrive.
We are the only company of our kind to have received a National Training Award, the highest level of award in the UK. Focused on teamwork and communication, our courses foster supportive working practices, helping people recognise the needs of the children and adults they work with, offer help where necessary, and be able to make use of support when offered.
